National Organization for Victim Assistance
NOVA’s mission is to promote rights and services for victims of crime and crisis everywhere. They also provide advocacy, direct services, and technical services to clients and professionals.
A long-term, community-based, violence reduction/crime prevention program. It is a program designed to help create an environment that reduces violence and establishes more peaceful ways of behaving, living and working in families, schools, organizations and communities. They do trainings on the PeaceBuilders process.
Victim Witness Program: Loudoun County, Virginia
Provides emotional support, counseling, advocacy, referral to local social service agencies, and (where possible) information on such things as: the status of the investigation; the status of the accused (arrested, released, conditions of release); the court system and their rights within it; safety and security, and much more.
Working with Victims of Crime with Disabilities
This is a product of the Symposium on Working with Crime Victims with Disabilities, funded by the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) and coordinated by the National Organization for Victim Assistance (NOVA). They developed recommendations for OVC and the victim assistance field on improving the response in serving crime victims with disabilities.

Law enforcement violence/military/war crimes
The Miles Foundation is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting awareness of interpersonal violence, especially as it pertains to the military. The Foundation provides services to victims of violence perpetrated by or upon military personnel. Services, include development of safety plans; financial support; advocacy; attorney and therapist referrals; support group referrals; protective order documentation and service; development of victim impact statements; and engagement of witness protection programs.
