Co-Parenting Digital Stories

The Domestic Abuse Project (DAP), Minnesota Center Against Violence and Abuse (MINCAVA) and the Center for Digital Storytelling collaborated to create digital stories about co-parenting in the context of domestic violence. Two workshops were held at the University of Minnesota, one with survivors of violence and one with men who used to batter. Participants shared their experiences in the context of a story circle, recorded their own voiceover narrations, and learned to construct their stories using Adobe PhotoShop and Adobe Premiere. The workshop concluded with a screening of the stories and time for the storytellers to celebrate their accomplishments. This project was made possible by the Silence Speaks program out of California, the Domestic Abuse Project, MINCAVA, and funding from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation. The QuickTime application is needed to view these personal multimedia stories.
