The Wisconsin Coalition Against Domestic Violence and the State of Wisconsin have launched a powerful public awareness campaign designed to reach women and men living in violence and provide them with information about resources to help break the cycle of family violence. This project includes resaerch and evaluation components, the results of which are being used by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to evaluate progress on combatting domestic violence.
All posters will carry the National Domestic Violence Hotline telephone number which is 1-800-799-SAFE. There will also be space on each poster for local programs to put their telephone numbers. The National Domestic Violence Hotline will be able to link your clients to information and services by way of a nationwide database developed and maintained at its offices located in Austin, Texas. The system stores up-to-date information on domestic violence and other emergency shelters, legal advocacy and assistance programs, and social service programs, thereby directly contributing to positive working relationships among local, state, national and federal service providers. One call to the Hotline's toll-free and memorable number summons immediate help.
