The Herstory of Domestic Violence was originally researched and compiled by SafeNETWORK staff, April Howard and Susan Lewis. The Herstory was revised and updated for SafeNETWORK for the 1999 California Statewide Conference on Domestic Violence by Tamsen Stevenson and Cindi Love.

    <description>The purpose of this two&#8208;year experiment was to provide high-quality scientific evidence concerning the effectiveness of targeting a young, universal primary prevention audience with classroom&#8208;based curricula and school&#8208;level interventions addressing dating violence and sexual harassment.  Overall, the intervention
was shown to affect student knowledge and behavioral intentions in a positive manner and as
hypothesized (with some exceptions) was effective in reducing dating/peer violence
(especially sexual violence) and sexual harassment.</description>

    <description>Organizations working to prevent violence against women have begun to involve men as key allies in this effort.  The goals of the Mobilizing Men for Violence Prevention project were to describe the programming, strategies and frameworks employed by these programs and to identify common themes related to successfully partnering with men. &lt;br&gt;
This webinar will provide an overview of the nature and activities of the programs that responded to the study, and will discuss the common themes that emerged regarding how programs are accessing and meaningfully engaging men around the issue of gender-based violence.</description>
