The purpose of this position is to empower chronically stressed families by building upon family strengths, addressing identified needs and developing a community support network. These services are provided primarily on location in the family’s home and community. This specific position is tied to HPRP housing funds and will focus on helping families find and maintain stable housing.
The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, U of M, has an immediate position opening to work with Dr. Susie Nanney and other team members on a 2-year research project, with 75% to 100% effort, in partnership with local schools. The purpose of this NIH funded project is to improve school breakfast participation through school-level policy changes.
Objective: This position will work in cooperation with the RSP project staff as well as other coalition staff and partners for successful completion of a variety of RSP projects. Our multiple projects include providing training and technical assistance to sexual assault coalitions, SASP Administrators, and Rural Grantees as well as support in developing best practices at selected Demonstration Initiative sites. Our work includes: intensive technical assistance in person, on the phone and on-line; focus group facilitation; curriculum development; training in person and through webinars; as well as publication and resource creation and dissemination.
Required Qualification: Eligible candidates will have a minimum of three years of primarily sexual assault- specific experience in service provision to victims. Additional experience with sexual assault prevention, community organizing against sexual violence, or non-profit management preferred.

Skill Requirements: Candidate must possess a thorough knowledge of sexual assault issues including sexual assault service provision and victims. Position requires excellent communication and the ability to work cooperatively with others. Experience in developing training including design and delivery to a variety of audiences is required. Additional knowledge and understanding of capacity building strategies, community partnerships and program evaluation is helpful. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to use technology-driven modes of communication. Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects and demonstrated organizational skill and attention to detail is a must. Desire for extensive travel conducting on-site technical assistance and training is critical. Demonstrated excellence in technical writing and research skills required. Experience in publication creation would be beneficial.
